Speech by Mr. Tekle G/Yohannes, General Manager of Sales and Services for Ethiopian Airlines in China and Mongolia
On November 7, 1973, Ethiopian Airlines opened its Beijing route. For 50 years, Ethiopian Airlines has continuously served the Chinese market and has now opened multiple destinations in China.
In fact, Ethiopian Airlines officially launched its first flight to China on February 21, 1973, when a Boeing 720 jet arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, making Ethiopian Airlines the first airline in Africa and also the fourth airline in the world to open routes for the Chinese market. On November 7, 1973, Ethiopian Airlines changed its direct flight route from Shanghai to Beijing. To this day, Ethiopian Airlines not only has not interrupted its services, but also continues to expand its Chinese network, successively opening routes to Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong.
The development of Weidu Logistics is closely related to the development of Ethiopian Airlines. We appreciate the continuous support of Ethiopian Airlines and its partners, the trust of our customers, and the efforts of our colleagues. We will continue to strive to become a leader in African logistics. We wish Ethiopian Airlines a bright future and lead us to create more exciting and miraculous things for following the Belt and Road Initiative!
